2012 JL Mann Boy’s Track and Field Team Rules
1. We are students first, and athletes second. School should always come first. However, you should always plan your schedule in such a way as to be able to attend all team practices, competitions and other events.
2. Students who cannot balance Track and Field with good school performance will be held out of practice and competition until school performance improves.
3. You will attend all practice sessions unless you have prior permission from the Head Coach.
4. Profanity or vulgar language will not be tolerated; we need to choose our words with care.
5. Alcohol and Tobacco use will not be tolerated; it is illegal and won’t help you get where you want to go as a student, person or athlete.
6. Fighting is unacceptable; we will settle our differences like young adults.
7. Team mates will support each other at all times; we will not have drama on our team. You will work to solve problems constructively and if you cannot, you will enlist the aid of the Coaches.
8. Treat others with respect, especially Team mates, Coaches, Officials, Fans, Teachers, Administrators and Support Personnel.
9. Our team will ride the bus together to all meets per Greenville County School District rules. You may ride home from meets with your own parents, if they have requested it in writing, and you have been given permission from the Head Coach to do so.
10. You must pay your 35$ “Food for Track Meets Fee” before you receive your uniform.
11. Uniforms must be washed according to our instructions. Any fading or damage will require you to purchase a new uniform.
12. If you are late to the bus on the way to a meet, or on the way home from a meet, you will be left behind.
13. You must be on time to training, unless you have permission from the Head Coach. Latecomers will be asked to leave practice.
14. Electronic devices are not allowed in the competition venue. Don’t take your phone or MP3 player onto the track or field with you.
15. Take your jewelry off before exiting the bus at track meets.
16. You must make good choices at school and in the community. If you are sent to ISS, you will be held out of practice and/or competition at the Head Coach’s discretion. Excessive absences/tardies will also be grounds for being held out of practice or competition.
17. The Head Coach, in consultation with your Event Coach, will determine which events and which competitions you will participate in.
